I ordered Planet of the Dinosaurs and Voodoo Man. I already have the two shorts compilations and I’m not interested in another Plan 9 From Outer Space DVD.

Does anyone know the chances of any of them turning up on store shelves like “Litte Shop of Horrors” and “Night of the Living dead.” did?

    They’re also on Netflix.

Any word on if Deep Discount DVD will carry the new Rifftrax DVDs? They’ve been selling the older RT DVDs for about $4 cheaper.

Sounds like these are just being released to retail like the other DVDs were, so you should be able to get them places besides Amazon.

It’s about time! Will they be available at Suncoast too? I’ve been trying to order them there for months!

OT but the Cinematic Titanic live show at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square finally has an on-sale date, this Friday. There seems to be a pre-sale for this Wednesday – anyone happen to have a password for that?

Steve vil: It’s been a while since I’ve been to a Suncoast, but I believe any store that wants to order these can. I remember special ordering discs from them back in the day, so I would bet you could do that if they aren’t stocking them for the shelves.

Some guy on ebay somehow got an advance copy of Voodoo Man, and I was bale to get the DVD in spite of ebay closing the auction early. It’s pretty good!

Toblerone, how’s the sound mix on the Voodoo Man DVD? I did the download to burn from the site and while it’s an excellent work, I thought the riffers were way too loud to really hear the movie. That get fixed by chance?

  13. I assume the Planet of the Dinosaurs DVD will still have the aspect ratio screwed up?

    @The Toblerone Effect #10

The Voodoo Man DVD has actually been out for a while now. It, along with the other DVDs listed here, are currently only available directly from the Rifftrax website though, and what this news is about is that they will be available everywhere on Jan 26th. I hope you didn’t pay too much for your DVD, because you could have just ordered it for $9.95 plus about $5 shipping from the Rifftrax site at any time.

On another note, I noticed that the physical Rifftrax DVDs are only $9.95 on the Rifftrax website, but the “download to burn” option is $11.95. I’d think that the “download to burn” would be significantly cheaper, not more expensive.

If you’re like me and tend to buy just one or two things at at time, the download to burn is cheaper since there’s no shipping. Also there’s the bonus of immediate gratification.

But if I’m picking up more than one title, I absolutely order physical copies. Ends up being a little cheaper and I have “official” DVDs too.

I just think that any download should be less expensive than getting a physical disc (I’m not counting shipping in that). I don’t like downloading Rifftrax or CT DVDs, because I really don’t like spending that much money when I’m just going to wind up with a burned DVD to show for it. So to me it’s always well worth the extra few dollars to get the actual DVDs, and I’m rather patient so I can wait a few days to get what I actually want.

@ #11 MSTJon: I didn’t notice anything wrong with the audio or video on this dvd; the guy had it so well packaged and mixed, I didn’t find out until after the end of auction that it wasn’t an actual Rifftrax-approved copy! Looking back, I really lucked out on this one.

@ #15 Cronkite: I made a bid on the item assuming it had already been officially released, so I didn’t think twice about it being a dubbed copy. I only paid about $8 with shipping altogether.

Like I said, a totally lucky experience! I’ll be more careful next time.

  19. These are available now.

Please, can anyone confirm if the Planet of the Dinosaurs DVD still has it’s aspect ratio screwed up? The one Rifftrax is selling is squished, I assume this one is too?
