Is this a film about that Illusionist?

  3. BathTub says:

Yes, it’s about the famous magician David Cloverfield, who made the head of the Statue of Liberty disappear.

Thank crap for that, the movie was terrible.
    Another worthy addition.

Hooray! I was hoping they’d get to this – what a crappy movie, and perfect fodder for the guys.

The movie had its handful of moments, but yeah… this one is ripe for riffing. I saw this in the theaters with my boyfriend and a few of our friends. My boyfriend was horrified and grossed out by the blood and violence, but all I could keep thinking was, “Why isn’t there a *single* appealing character in this entire movie??”

That is, if you discount the bloodthirsty parasites.

I thought this was a very good movie–reminded me of Ishiro Honda’s original 1954 Godzilla–but the riffs should be great.

For bad movies, being MSTed is what they deserve.

For good movies, being MSTed is an honor.

I actually really liked Cloverfield. Sure there’s not a lot to it, but I enjoyed it for what it was, a really really fun monster movie.

THANK YOU! Never before have I seen a film that (a) made me want to punch myself in the eye sockets for having seen it, and (b) is SOOOO ripe to be ripped apart for the cloying disaster-film-if-done-by-the-writers-of-the-O.C. it is. J.J. Abrams, you are on my list.

How do they release a RiffTrax the same day the DVD comes out? How DO they do it??

My mother saw this movie in theaters, and it gave her motion sickness. I doubt even with Mike, Kevin, and Bill that it’d be watchable for her.

    Monsters are funny.

  13. Fnord says:

Nutcase, it might be better on a small screen. I know that in the smaller setting, when the only movement is in a small area of your view, it’s normally better for people.

As for the movie, well… It’s nice that, in this day and age they can release a movie with no backstory, no plot, just people walking and looking.

It’s the second worst movie I’ve ever seen, after the equally crappy ” Blair Witch Project” They should riff that dog too.

Sorry, but unless I can fill up my tank with rifftrax, I’m going to have to save my hard earned money for Exxon. And there’s just no mony left for anything else after I fill up my tank!

I love The Blair Witch Project, but I hated Cloverfield. It’s a terrible sham of a movie that should have been a lot better, if it was made by people who knew what they were doing.

    Godzilla,

    Gamera,

    King Kong,

    Cloverfield….

If it wasn’t for Rifftrax, I would never watch a monster movie with a name that sounds like a show on the CW. Next up after One Tree Hill, the season finale of Cloverfield, stay tuned.
