Stash of “20th Anniversary Collectors Edition” Found

The staff at Shout Factory tells us they have discovered a stash of the thought-to-be-out-of-print of the “MST3K 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition” (complete with tins) and have thrown them up for sale. Get ’em while you can.

Good thing I already have one. I make it a policy not to purchase anything someone has thrown up.

That sucks that something that was released not even a year and a half ago is out of print already (assuming these are the last ones). Apparently MST fans have to be on the ball with buying the DVDs if they don’t want to pay through the nose later.

Well dude, my understanding is that these were limited edition, the ones with the Crow statuette and metal tin. You can still get the DVDs for much cheaper, but the extra-special one was made to be out of print.

    @4
What he said. The episodes are all still for sale (again, much cheaper than this set), all you’ll miss out on is the tin and Crow statue.

Along with that, I thought Rhino taught all of us to pick up the new set ASAP. The thought of shelling out $200-$300 for FOUR episodes makes even the Best Buy $50 tag seem quite reasonable. Shout! has to love that we’re so well trained to give them our money as quickly as we can get to our wallets.

I bought them all, and will be putting them on ebay one at time for the next 20 years.

I love that they’ve “thrown them up” for sale! When Shout Factory throws up, we all win.

  9. The timing of this could not be worse, as I bought the 20th Anniversary Edition sans tin and plastic robot not even a month ago knowing that I’d have had to shell out at least twice what I paid for the Collector’s Edition. Weak. :x

@6: No kidding. I learned my lesson with volume 10 and this collector’s edition. I pre-order every new volume as soon as it becomes available. I’d hate to have a complete set -1 at this point, it would drive me absolutely nuts.

MST3K is the only thing I do this with, so I don’t feel entirely unlike a crazy person–wait, what?

hell yeah you have to be on the ball, the day the last set came out I went to the store at open and they didnt even have 1 set! There was this couple there looking for it to and I ended up running into them again at the other store across town, where there were only 2 box sets left!

I have never had so much trouble getting something the day it comes out.
But I hate ordering online, so this time I will be first, FIRST do you here me?! FIRSST!!.
(I gotta cut back on the coffee)

And meanwhile I wait for the XVI (Tom Servo set) to go out of print. All I want to do is order a standard edition whenever it finally becomes available…

Yea, I agree with all of you.
I bought mine and kept it in the original plastic.
I don’t even play them so they won’t get scratched up by my DVD needle.
