Monica Hesse of The Washington Post has a nice long piece about Cinematic Titanic in advance of tonight’s show in Washington D.C.
Also:
• Ryan Kearney of TBD.com interviews Joel.
• Randy Schulman of Washington’s Metro Weekly also interviews Joel.
• And the Washington Post’s Express Night Out’s Stephen M. Deusner also does a short interview with Joel.

Can’t wait for the big show tomorrow!!!
Good interview.
A diffrent question and POV.
Thanks for the update.
I’d just like to note that Joel’s interviewer in this piece, Stephen M. Duesner, has extolled the virtues of MST3K on http://www.pitchfork.com as a contributor on a year end staff list. (Was it 2009?) Pitchfork, for those who may not be aware, is a Internet-based daily music website that features reviews, interviews, news, columns and more. It’s popular with the younger “hipsters”. Think of Spin magazine but with a lot more music you’ve never heard of (unless you’re indie or a hipster).
Good interview, Stephen!
I’ll be going to the DC show and have a question about timing for anyone who has gone to prior shows. If the show is scheduled to start at 8pm, can anyone guess at what time it would end? Thanks!
While he is in D.C., somebody should ask him about his political beliefs on fugitive aliens.
Should they be returned home?
Or can they stay stuck here?
:alien:
It said that Mary Jo received a movie called “The Devil’s Daughter”,right? Who is giving her movies and how can I(or we)do that? There are quite a bit of movies I would love to see them do..I bet(or a hunch really)that “War of the Insects” becomes available on dvd next month sometime. At least I’m hoping it is..
I’ve been to three shows before, though it’s not been since Philly in July 2009. If I recall, the CT shows I saw all ran about 2 – 2.5 hours. There’s a pre-show of about 30 minutes. The movie riffing show is usually about 80-100 minutes depending on the movie as you would expect based on their DVDs.
All three times we’ve seen CT previously I’ve asked various cast members if they would consider doing a show in the D.C. area and now it’s finally happening. Needless to say we’ll be there. After flying to Minnesota and driving to Philly this is a simple Metro ride away, so we had no excuse to miss it. So let me ask, who else is going? Sampo, are you coming down from PA for this one?
Thanks, Mr. B(ob).
