I got mine last Friday. I’m really glad to have an official copy of The Beginning of the End. I forgot that it has one of my favorite host segments. It’s what I like to call, “The Private Life of Dr. Forrester and TV’s Frank.” Hilarious.

  2. I clicked on the link but it took me to some site called “Shout Factory”. Hm. Did Amazon change their name? :silly:

Just got my copies. Was watching Beginning of the End and noticed some videotape glitches on the top & bottom of the screen, mainly within the first host segments. Need to watch it again to see if there are more. Anyone have this problem?

Only the first five minutes were really affected on my copy. Afterwards, it was smooth sailing. Or maybe it wasn’t. The movie itself isn’t very good, so there’s every chance I couldn’t tell the difference.

Either way, it wasn’t too jarring. It wasn’t Dead Talk Back bad.

I know I noticed the tape glitches in the new Beginning of the End DVD so I put in my old Rhino DVD and guess what, no tape glitches!

In these desperate times I can’t bring myself to spend TWENTY DOLLARS on a single DVD. Thank goodness I already have ISCWSLABMUZ on DVD and The Beginning of the End on Rhino VHS…

Kind of wish they just saved Beginning of the End for a future boxed set, as those I do treat myself too.

I might have sprung for these if the discs had some kind of extras on them but since I already have both original dvd’s I’m going to skip these.

Does the new copy of “The Beginning of the End” have the episode bumpers?

    Are these available in stores?

  11. No, you have to order them through S!F. I don’t know if that means they’ll never turn up on Amazon or not, but if not I probably won’t be buying them. I taped these episodes back in the day and have them on DVD and I have no particularly compelling reason to “upgrade”, though I’d certainly consider it if I could simply purchase them on Amazon.

Do these DVDs still have the animated menus at least?

No animated menus sorry, I was hoping for them too

The bumpers for the commercial breaks are in this release of Beginning of thr End. However it does have tape glitches up until the movie starts. Which leaves us with two imperfect releases of this episode.

And what’s wrong with the Rhino DVD, pablum?

  16. pablum says:

The Rhino DVD doesn’t have the commercial break bumpers.

However I do prefer the Rhino version to this one due to the tape glitches introduced in the Shout Factory release.

No animated features???? Damn, that’s a real pooper. :/

What are they like then, if it’s ok to ask? I still plan on getting BOTE just for the commercial bumpers. But that sucks that the master tape apparently developed new glitches.

I received these on Monday. One of the cases was cracked. I e-mailed Shout Factory’s customer service but haven’t heard back from them yet.

  22. Just ordered mine. 45 bucks (including shipping and handling) is kind of a ripoff for just two episodes, but I can’t complain, as they are two valuable assets to the collection.
