Hmmmmmmmm….interesting. They must be increasing the production numbers of the sets for them to have earlier volumes still in inventory.

Wait…….you mean to tell me that the French enjoy more than just the comedy of Jerry Lewis ???

Thanks for the info–I ordered Vol. XVII! I’ve actually never seen The Crawling Eye–either the movie or the episode, and in the wake of this last week’s discussion thread I find myself thinking I might like the movie on its own. Seeing the first episode (whether it’s a strong effort or not) will be a treat. :-))

Does anybody know how long the sale lasts?

  12. Mr. B(ob) says:

No way to predict how long it will last, sometimes these things last for days, other time the price changes to something higher VERY quickly.

@ big61al #1… Why do you say that? When has Amazon ever not had the Mystery Science Theater 3000 sets in stock unless they were out of print? There is especially no reason to be surprised that they still have the Shout Factory sets readily available. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they have some of the old Rhino ones still in stock as well.

@ Mr. B(ob) #12… That’s definitely true. Amazon deals like this usually last at least a couple of days, but you never know. I’ve seen them come and go in one day or even just hours. I’ve even had Amazon prices change on me multiple times in just the time it took for me to put something in my cart, look around the site a little more for a few minutes, and then finally go to check out. One particular time the price of a DVD changed from what it was when I was looking it’s item page to something else while it was in my cart for only a minute or two, and then I looked around the site some more and put another item in my cart, and the first item’s price had changed yet again. Three different prices all within like five minutes (luckily both new prices were even lower than the original one).

    @ #13: “I’m busted till Friday.”

Amazon doesn’t charge credit cards till the item ships if that helps. Then, of course there’s a delay in having to pay till the bill arrives.

The sale is still going on as of this writing, but as someone else pointed out prices can change several times in a day and that’s exactly the experience I was thinking of when I posted here the first time about how transitory pricing can be on Amazon. I’ve seen great prices disappears very quickly, sometimes going from a massive discount to virtually none at all. For those who can order now and wish to do so, don’t hesitate. Grasp opportunity by the forelock lest she turneth a bald noodle.

YOINK! Finally, I’ll have a pristine DVD of The Beast Of Yucca Flats. Surely my multiple-generation VHS-sourced copy is responsible for the poor image quality of the film. :-P

@Sharktopus… also I think Coleman Francis spilled some RC Cola on it.

Its a shame these sales don’t help me. Ever since the volume 10 fiasco I pre-order every MST3K set in case something happens to the rights and it gets pulled.

@ #19: Thanks for sharing that with all of us.

Curious, I don’t have that email yet and I normally get tons of emails from Amazon about MST3K related promotions since I’ve ordered so many sets from them. I often get emails from them promoting sets that I’ve already ordered from them. Well, it will probably come later today or tomorrow.

I held off on V.18 because of the video quality issues with 2 episodes, some people on amazon said it wasn’t that distracting but others said it was horrible. I’m sure it’s better than a 15-year old tape so it’ll be mine soon. I ordered that and a rifftrax dvd.
