Update: Josh Interview + New CT Dates

UPDATE: According to this story, they’ve been booked for Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York, Pa.

Alan Scherstuhl at SF Weekly interviews Josh ahead of tonight’s Cinematic Titanic show in San Franciscky.

And, by the way, they’re a long way off, but the Titans have announced some more performance dates:

* Friday, Nov. 4, 8 p.m. at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the U.C. Davis, One Shields Ave., Davis, Calif. Get tickets here.
* Satuday, Nov. 5, 8 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa, Calif. Tickets not yet on sale.
* Saturday, Nov. 12, 8 p.m. at the Meyer Theatre, 117 South Washington St. in Green Bay, Wis. Tickets not yet available.
* Friday, Dec. 30, 8 p.m. at the Keswick Theater, 291 North Keswick Ave. in Glenside (suburban Philadelphia), Pa. Tickets not yet available.

And hey, if you know of a great venue for a Cinematic Titanic performance, tell the people at the venue to contact CT’s booking agent. The contact information to give them is here. Get your friends to do it too! Use peer pressure!

Ha! Easier said than done. I’ve been doing that for over a year and still haven’t gotten anywhere. That only works if you have a real theatre in your town.

Looking forward to seeing them in Davis, though I wish they’d say what movie it’s going to be. (though this far in advance, they probably don’t know themselves)

(I know we’ve done this before, but I can’t see “San Franciscky” without this response.)

Hmm, the Keswick theater, I think I might be able to hit that up. I obviously have to see which movie they are showing.

I got Portland covered. Lots of cool theaters here, loads of ’em. I wondered why CT had never come here; I guess no ones ever asked them.

Maybe by December 30th I’ll be able to afford to go see CT finally…

Nice modest Josh interview, glad they asked about Freaks & Geeks at the end. I wonder if Josh is tired of talking about MST3K and wishes someone would ask him about Malcolm & Eddie?

This morning I have sent an email to an arena in my area. I live in New York state, in the Hudson Valley, so I decided to email the Mid Hudson Civic Center the information. We need Cinematic Titanic in the Hudson Valley!!! If anyone else on this site lives in NY state and wants to email the Events Manager, her name is Melissa Deacon and this is her email address: Melissad@midhudsonciviccenter.com

This is the website to the Mid Hudson Civic Center, which is in Poughkeepsie, NY: http://www.midhudsonciviccenter.com/index.php

C’mon New Yorkers– let’s get Cinematic Titanic to the Hudson Valley!!!

    Won’t you? Thank you.

    @ Ralph C:

Where are you in the scenic and historic Hudson Valley, if I may be so bold? I’m from Newburgh myself, and currently live in Middletown. (No, I’m not in a gang. Yes, I could probably get you weed.)

Anyway, though I haven’t actually contacted any venues, I’ve been thinking that the Bardavon Opera House (also in Poughkeepsie, for you non-New Yorkers) would be a much better venue than the Civic Center. (Not that I wouldn’t jump for joy to see them anywhere that isn’t over an hour’s drive, but the Mid-Hudson Civic Center can be horribly uncomfortable.) The Paramount Theater here in Middletown, and its sister theater in Peekskill would be good, too. I’ll look into contacting all of the above…

For everybody else, I just found that you can “demand” Cinematic Titanic come to your area at Eventful: ( http://eventful.com/performers/cinematic-titanic-live-/P0-001-000186683-7 ). I’ve “demanded” other performers in the past and never got any results, but hey, it’s worth a try.

@14..I know.Tell me about it,but do you think since they won’t tour again until Nov.,they could release a new dvd(or 2)in between that time? I mean, they’ve done Samson and Rattlers for long enough and should have a new movie to riff on by then.Least I’m hoping they will.

I asked Joel about DVD releases when I saw them in San Francisco on Friday, he said there was nothing official but they were thinking somewhere around September. Can’t wait for that! :D

And woooooo, they’ll be in Davis in November! Two hours closer and I won’t have to find parking in the freaking Castro lol

Green Bay! Joel returns to his high school stomping grounds.
If any of the CT people are lurking, I’d ask they take a bit of care in the movie selection. I live kind of between Milwaukee and Green Bay and I’ve attended both times they were in Milwaukee. I’m sure I’m not alone in that. So I hope they’ll do a film in Green Bay that wasn’t screened in Milwaukee.

Pshaw! I basically begged (and had my friend beg for me too) for them to come closer to Southwest VA. Like Bristol, TN or Charlotte, NC. Both big cities with nice theaters. I was ignored and eventually gave up. The closest they ever came was Washington, DC.

That’s over a 10 hour drive all together. No way am I doing that alone.

So now I keep waiting for the DVD. You would think they would at least release a new live DVD for people like me.

Not buying anything from CT again. If they can’t or won’t tour in the Southeast. Why should I give any support. If Jerry Seinfeld was a hit in Asheville NC. (He’s toured twice to consecetive sold out shows.) I don’t see why CT couldn’t come in and do the same. Lots of transplants from across the nation live in the Western NC and East Tennessee area. CT humor wouldn’t fall on deaf ears here. Plus, there is a big college presence in the area. U. Tennesse, UNC-A, E.Tennessee State, App. State…… just to name a few. No more SNUB show some LOVE. :-P
