Trace Beaulieu either was black mailed or owed someone a favour.

Someone needs to riff this one right away. The trailer reeks of incompetence. That chick’s acting was jaw droppingly bad.

I too feel sorry for Trace. Ex-Brains should stay away from “experimental film makers”. The movie doesn’t even look SCI-FI CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE quality!

Seems that Bill Corbett isn’t the only one who gets involved in a crappy movie project. Poor Trace would have his head spinning when he sees this!

WOW – you guys are harsh. Now I know how all thr directors of MST films felt.

I spent a year of my life – sweat, blood, tears and lot of my own money making TRIPTOSANE. Trace LOVED the script (and the trailer) and did it out of love of low budget filmmaking. And did a great job. He was terrific to work with. Aside from you guys- reactions to trailer have been great. Its a story with debth- about human consciousness and the paradigm shift we need as a society.

    But ok- RIFF AWAY!

Mike D…It’s funny, because I’ve been looking for a movie with more “debth”……..

  14. Graboidz says:

Actually, good luck Mike, I hope the project is successful and that your hard work pays off. Please disregard the snarky “debth” post….

so Edgewriter – I assume you are a successful film editor- care to enlighten me on my incompetence in trailer making?

Hey, Mike. The story seems very interesting, and I have to give you props for making a film. Not an easy task at all, even with all the budget and resources in the world.

That being said, think about the audience that this is being shown to on this website. While you put a lot of obvious love and effort into this, MSTies are used to ravaging lower budget flicks. It’s just what we do.

    Still, I would watch it.

Yes- understood. I had hoped folks would show respect for Trace, though.

Oh yeah, MSTies are a tolerant bunch, just ask the folks at Shout Factory, Rifftrax, Rhino Records or even Comedy Central & the Sci-Fi Channel about ease of doing business with us….we are known to let things slide without 1 word of grumble or protest……

QUICK! Let’s start a Mike vs. Joel flame war!!

I can’t find anything wrong with the trailer. I’m certainly no film reviewer or professional editor, but it looks fine to me and did what a trailer is supposed to do-give me a good idea of what the movie entails.

and whats wrong with ****take mushrooms?
    Oh! I see…

    Hey Mike,
looks good to me, I’m happy to hear Trace’s from a HAL-like computer … and with the new research studies on psychedelics as medicine for addiction, depression and chronic pain, it’s good that there are movies coming out addressing the issues of mushrooms, triptamines and consciousness in a modern non-1960s context. Good work!

AND go ahead and expect the HARSHEST reviews imaginable from the MST3K related boards … Nobody is immune, it’s only natural. We LOVE to HATE, and sometimes it’s projected indiscriminately. Consider it a form of “Tough Love”

looking FWD to seeing the full flick!

    Miguel-

EXACTLY- this is a fascinating subject matter. These substances may just indeed bring sanity to our species. I am happy to see that more and more research is being done after a long absence.
