Weekend Discussion Thread: MSTed Characters on the Moon

Alert regular John notes:

Being it is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, how about a thread where if MST3K movie characters were the first to step foot on the moon? What would they do there? What would their iteration of the famous “One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” be?

‘Fugitive Alien’s’ Ken and Captain Joe land the LEM. Ken sets foot on the moon. Captain Joe takes off without him and exclaims over the radio “Ha ha ha ha ha!…You’re stuck here!”

Have at it!

Weekend Discussion Thread: Castle-like Gimmicks

Alert regular Kenneth suggests:

William Castle is well-remembered for the gimmicks he put together for his movies, like the Punishment Poll for “Mr. Sardonicus” and Percepto for “The Tingler.” What Castle-style gimmicks would you suggest for a MSTed movie? One exception: “The Screaming Skull” already has one, with the “free coffin” offer.

For “Batwoman,” how about some actors dressed as the main characters chasing each other around as the characters do?

What would your gimmick be?

Keep those WDT ideas coming!

RIP Marshall Brodien

GENEVA, Ill.–Sometimes we miss it when somebody in our MSTory files passes quietly. There were some stories in the media, but they didn’t get on our radar.
But back in March, magician Marshall Brodien passed away here and we thought we would mention it. He was a target for gentle humor from Joel during several host segments.

The Sun-Times has the story.
