Demi Moore Wins Golden Globe

Hollywood, Calif. — Actress Demi Moore won her first acting award January 5, a Golden Globe for her role in “The Substance.”

MSTies will recall that Moore played Holly Trumball in the movie in episode 322- MASTER NINJA I and who was mentioned in host segments in episodes 514- TEENAGE STRANGLER and 818- DEVIL DOLL.*

He also played Richard Kingman in the movie in episode 309- THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN, Dr. Carmichael in the movie in episode 319- WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST and General Patrick in the movie in episode 311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD.

RIP Jimmy Carter

— PLAINES, Ga. — Former President Jimmy Carter, who lost the White House after one term, died at a hospice care center here Dec. 29. He was 100.

Carter was the longest-living U.S. president.

RIP Olivia Hussey

LONDON — Actress Olivia Hussey (Eisley), who starred as a teenage Juliet in the 1968 film “Romeo and Juliet,” died Dec. 27 at her home here. She was 73.

Hussey was 15 when director Franco Zeffirelli cast her in his adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy after spotting her onstage.

MSTies will remember her role as The Mannerjay in the movie in episode 913- QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS.
