Posted by Sampo, on November 13th, 2024  Danish actor and director, known for his work in “A Royal Affair” (2012), “Brothers” (2004) and the TV series “Matador” (1978-1982) has died. He was 87.
MSTies may remember his work his role as Svend Viltorft in the movie in episode 1101- REPTILICUS.

Posted by Sampo, on November 5th, 2024  LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Haze, who appeared in numerous Roger Corman cheapies, including “The Little Shop of Horrors,” died at his home here Nov. 2. He was 95.
A familiar face in movies riffed by MST3K, he played Pvt. Manuel Ortiz in the movie in episode 311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, a caveteen in the movie in episode 315- TEENAGE CAVEMAN, Ottar in the movie in episode 317- VIKING WOMEN AND THE SEA SERPENT, a pickpocket in the movie in episode 503- SWAMP DIAMONDS, Jake Hays in the movie in episode 511- GUNSLINGER and a radioactively contaminated man in THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED (riffed by fans in Sci-fi Channel’s “MST3K: The Home Game”).

Posted by Sampo, on November 3rd, 2024  LOS ANGELES — Actor Alan Rachins, perhaps best known for his role as sharp attorney Douglas Brackman Jr. on TV’s “L.A. Law” or the spacey dad in TV’s “Dharma & Greg,” died at a hospital here on Nov. 2. He was 82.
MSTies will remember his role as the pawnbroker in the movie “Time Walker,” seen in episode 405- BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET.

Posted by Sampo, on October 31st, 2024  ANZIO, ITALY — Italian actor ad stuntman Giovanni Cianfriglia, who appeared in more than 100 films over more than 400 40 years, died here October 30. He was 89.
Cianfriglia debuted as the body double of Steve Reeves in the movie in episode 502- HERCULES. MSTies may remember that he had two roles — a rebel and a disinfector — in the movie in episode 705- ESCAPE 2000.
He starred in several adventure films and spaghetti Westerns in leading roles, using the stage name Ken Wood.
