 LOS ANGELES — Actor Steve Franken, perhaps best remembered as the wealthy and snobbish Chatsworth Osborne Jr. on the early 1960s sitcom “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis,” died of cancer here on Aug. 24. He was 80. MSTies will recall him as Henry Maitland in the movie in episode 305- STRANDED IN SPACE.His NYT obit is here. 
CINCINNATI–Neil Armstrong, the soft-spoken engineer who became a global hero when he made “one giant leap for mankind” with a small step onto the moon, died Aug. 25 following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures. He was 82. Longtime regular Joseph writes:
I’m guessing that on the nightstand of J.C. of “Sidehackers” is Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” What’s your suggestion? The awesome Chris Hardwick and Nerdist podcast crew interview Joel and Joel says a couple of little things about the show’s origins that I don’t think I ever heard before.
