It’s on Amazon at about $23 bucks, but it’s on the Best Buy website for about half that. If you look hard enough you’ll find one… Our pals over at the “Discussion Board” are holding a vote for their favorite MST3K short. You can vote here and you can vote for as many as you like.

An open thread for reports from this weekend’s Cinematic Titanic shows in Milwaukee. If you took photos, feel free to upload them to your favorite photo sharing site and include a link. Your post may take a while to appear, however. Please be patient. Last week Steven DiTullio of openloungecast.com posted a piece about his attempt to watch and enjoy MST3K (he watched “Beast of Yucca Flats” ) but he really didn’t enjoy it.
After the piece ran, I tweeted him that maybe “Beast” wasn’t the best choice for a newbie. The movie can be a bit of a slog when you’re thrown into it. He tweeted me back asking for suggestions for better movies. I suggested a Joel ep — “Teenagers from Outer Space” — and Mike ep — “Werewolf”. He watched them, and his overall feelings toward the show are better, but I still don’t know if we’ve created a new fan. Well, I tried. Well, over at the episode guide we have finished up season one. Joel: Some of the movies were really terrible. [Cut to Mads] Mads: THANK you! So let’s wrap it up. Give us your pick for best and worst episodes of the Comedy Channel season. And feel free to offer any other season one thoughts. For best, I am going to have to go with 104- WOMEN OF THE PREHISTORIC PLANET. The movie’s watchable and goofy, the segments are clever and the riffing is a little taste of what’s to come. My only other comment is to agree with something several posters noted in recent weeks: the quaility of the host segments, beginning with 110- ROBOT HOLOCAUST, falls off sharply. There really isn’t anything memorable in episodes 110 through 113. I only really noticed it this time through and I have no explanation for it. What are your picks? |
