Posted by Sampo, on January 15th, 2008 • Nominate the perfect movie for Rifftrax…in haiku.
• The next Rifftrax title will be “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” with Mike, Kevin and Bill, based on the performance this week in Sketchfest. It’s due Jan. 22.
• Coming soon, the fan-written “Batman and Robin” riff.
Sidenote: Mike already did a solo riff of this movie on a Legend DVD, so this is his second run at a movie BBI once said they would never riff. Never say never! :-)
Posted by Sampo, on January 15th, 2008 • Jay Garman at TechRepublic does an item about CT and Rifftrax.
• As does the USA TODAY blog “Pop Candy.”
• And “Film Junk” does too…
• And, wow! Will Wheaton does too!
• DVDTalk raves about “The Oozing Skull.”
Posted by Sampo, on January 14th, 2008 Rifftrax has gone into quiet mode as Mike, Kevin and Bill prepare for their live riff of “Plan 9 from Outer Space” in San Francisco (“San Franciscky? How did you come? Did you drove or did you flew?”) this week.
But the site is making noises about the Rifftrax player, which is still in beta but seems to be pretty well finalized and ready to use. Seems pretty neat. If you’ve been holding off, this might be a good time to check it out. (Still no Mac version yet… )
Posted by Sampo, on January 14th, 2008 The Cinematic Titanic site is back up after a crash today. I suspect a mention on BoingBoing plus the influx of folks to their new forums may have been the culprit. These are the sort of problems you WANT to have. Trace Beaulieu tells us a new dedicated server will arrive shortly and that should prevent a recurrance of the problem.
Posted by , on January 13th, 2008 It’s not directly show-related, but several readers have written to say that Jon Stewart made an extremely brief mention of MST3K on “The Daily Show” last Wednesday. Long-time MSTies may remember that Stewart often introduced clips from MST3K when he was the co-host of Comedy Central’s “Short Attention Span Theater” in the early ’90s. It’s good to see he hasn’t forgotten his roots!
You can see the show HERE. Look for the MST mention about a minute and 25 seconds in.
