Posted by Sampo, on March 14th, 2006 Jim Mallon was out on the West Coast visiting the folks at Rhino Home Video recently, and he sat down with Rhino’s Jordan Fields for a wide-ranging interview, which is now available as a podcast at the Rhino Web site. Jim and Jordan look back at the history of MST3K and Jim offers observations on many aspects of the show (and even does a little Gypsy). He reveals several little historical tidbits even we had never heard before.

Posted by , on February 2nd, 2006 Occasionally, we get a flurry of emails about a news item that is only marginally related to MST3K. Here’s the latest:
Yes, we know that Tony Franciosa, who was mentioned in a host segment in episode 401- SPACE TRAVELLERS, and who was briefly married to Shelley Winters, recently passed away. But since he didn’t actually appear in the episode, we didn’t feel the need to post a notice about it. Until now. This also goes for the recent passing of playwright Wendy Wasserstein, whose initials provided two of the many W’s in Crow’s bracelet in episode 1002- GIRL IN THE GOLD BOOTS.
And yes, we know that John Allen Nelson, Mr. Deathstalker himself from episode 703- DEATHSTALKER AND THE WARRIORS FROM HELL, is currently appearing in the FOX series “24.” But literally thousands of actors and crewmembers have been involved in the making of the various movies featured on MST3K, and we really don’t want to mention each and every time one of them works on a new project. Unless it’s something really newsworthy. Like curing cancer. Or shooting a janitor into space.
