I had a feeling Squirm and Painted Hills would be up soon – surprised about Jungle Goddess. Now all we need left is Radar Secret Service for the VCI Lippert films! Also, glad to see the music rights for the Gumby short for Screaming Skull got cleared. Thanks again, Shout! Keep up the great work.

That Jeff Leiberman interview was interesting….. but, I’ll never forget that he once sent an angry e-mail to an MST3K *FAN SITE* thinking it was an offical site by BBI.

I did wait forever for Jungle Goddess…now if we can get Rocketship XM.. There arent many Joel episodes left that Shout can get…. Hercules, Stranded In Space are definite
The series 4 episodes are interesting to see what develops..I could see them being had at some point – most are *not likely* but when has that stopped Shout before..
Season 3 has it the brick wall after episode 305 though..

I am fascinated at arriving at the Great Wall of “extremely unlikely” that will not be budged by Shout’s plans.

I dread it, but at the same time, highly anticipate reaching it.

Upon arrival, all I will do is whine and complain.

@102 One day, Rowsdower, one day Shout will tell us to go out and find adventure, not bring it back home, and give us Robby Benson with Smuckers, the glorious City Limits. One day, I have faith.

Seems a lot of overreaction going on for a mere typo. Ahhh….the internet.

I count 42 NEVER AVAILABLE ON DVD, but I sometimes wonder if the true # should be considered larger.

Clearly Godzilla vs. Megalon and the 4 episodes on Vol. 9 should (less possibly ISC… which is available from SHOUT!)in my view should be considered “in need of release” as they are extremely hard to come by for someone that only recently decided to collect the DVDs, such as myself. Now, I’ve managed to gather all the other Rhino Volumes, but can’t bring myself to spend $100+ on those few episodes. So, in my view, those very hard to obtain episodes should be included under a second category of “needs re-release”. (I know this is nothing new to folks here, but just thought I’d put my 2 cents in.)

If it’s a “Turkey Day” set, perhaps all the Turkey Day host segments will be included.

    Ahhhh, the internet ideed.

But the above exchange is nothing that can be capsulized with such condescension, “skierpete.”

It’s was not an over reaction at all.

It was a desire for clarification. And it wasn’t a typo, but apparently a miscount on Big Al’s part and an echo on Danzilla’s.

I wasn’t calling anyone a flaming douchebag for a typo. Nor was I being argument or trolling.

I was truly uncertain where the count stood, as I saw TWO posters mention “44.”

Then later, when 42 was agreed upon, I was just curious as to Big Al’s counting method and was by now means trolling him, etc.

Then someone else started throwing in “released” episodes which really got me going at trying to make clear where I stood.

This is why I don’t post in this forum. The attention span of the average surfer has no patience with too much text.

While I was merely trying to verify something, others just see a wall of text and want to read the next witty post.

In my forum circles, what I did was N O T H I N G. It certainly wasn’t flaming or overreacting or even disagreeing.

A Twitteresque world is an abomination for those like myself, but I understand I am in the minority.

Trust me, the day you get a twitter brained attorney, is the day you will regret “burst-speak.”

I agree with you about Megalon. For those who desire a legitimate copy, it’s impossible to obtain without paying a ridiculous price. It might as well have never been released. It’s not Gozilla and Megalon, it’s Godzilla and Schrodinger.

Also some of the Rhino episodes that are out of print are insanely priced and only drive people to drop by Demonoid.

Not that an attorney would EVER have an account at Demonoid (cough)

It’s so stupid. I can afford to pay inflated prices, but would feel like a sucker were I to do so. So, due to my pride/ego, there are some episodes I just cannot allow myself to purchase.

While I am still learning more and more about Shout, I would not be surprised if they slowly obtain or share the rights that all the Rhino titles and solve this problem for us. They’ve released a few “rhino” episodes.

The lack of transparency is what makes this a challenging hunt. I don’t know why various things with Rhino are not in print. Surely it’s not a decision Rhino wanted…. but some type of rights fight.

Since this site has a reputation for reputable information, I thought something was off with MY count that fans understood, but that was unclear to me.

Danzilla’s response and others made it clear it’s 42 at present and the ones I have marked as having been released, truly have been, if only briefly.

Had I a complete up to date collection of my own, I would not have ~bothered~ asking about it.

There’s more lurkers out here than you think and I am sure they benefited from my seeking clarification.

My only request concerning differences of opinion is that they stay on topic and not devolve into personal comments or attacks. So far it has been, more or less. Please keep it that way. Thanks.

In 2008 RHINO got out of the home video (DVD) game. They only release CDs, posters, books, and rock-n-roll merchandise now.

That is why when a set finally sold out of stock it went Out Of Print. In this case it had nothing to do with film rights.

I believe Volumes 10.2, 11, and 12 are still available but when the stock runs out…OOP.

What SHOUT! will do with past titles in the future? Only they know.

  15. Just to clarify something about my list at #38: When a DVD is released, then goes out-of-print, I DO NOT re-add that title to the list. And by the way – I’m a guy, not a girl – that’s why as a professional composer I always include my middle name “Alan”, though not everyone catches that. Click my name at the top of the post to see my Facebook page.

While Squirm never was one I’d put in my favorite episode list, Screaming Skull and Painted Hills more than make for it.

As for speculation about the Turkey Day tweet, I’m really hoping they include the bumps from one of the Turkey Day Specials. That would be beyond awesome!

As usual, way to go, Shout! Factory. :-))

I don’t think anyone has mentioned it, but the release of “Robot Rumpus” leaves only one MST3K short that has not been released on DVD, either with its episode or as part of a shorts collection: “Alphabet Antics” (307 “Daddy-O”).

Getting Gumby in the ranks of the released is just one more instance of what an amazing job Shout! Factory has done in securing rights. It just shows what can be accomplished by a (relatively) small company that’s devoted to giving their customers what they want. I can’t wait to see what they’re able to accomplish with “WKRP in Cincinnati.”

Now, if Shout! could only be persuaded to go after HBO’s “Dream On” . . .

OK, I’m going to be getting some fan-made copies of unreleased episodes, and aside from the KTMAs, I’m looking to start with the least likely ones to ever be released officially. The available info on that is very confusing, but it looks like Godzilla vs. Sea Monster, and most of the remaining S3 episodes are my best bet?

I stand corrected. I am sooo bad at crossing things off my list. I still had “Attack Of The Giant Leeches” and “Horrors Of Spider Island” on it. That brings the total to 42. Thanks for correcting me.

I always look forward to the new sets, and volume 31 is no exception. I actually enjoy The Screaming Skull, and have never seen Painted Hills or Jungle Goddess before. Squirm isn’t exactly one I’m looking forward to, but far be it for me to deny myself the set over it.

And I may be alone on this, but I’m hoping someday they’ll get Diaboik!
