RIP Lyle Waggoner

LOS ANGELES–Actor and comedian Lyle Waggoner, perhaps best remembered as a stalwart straight man on “The Carol Burnett Show” and on TV as a co-star on TV’s “Wonder Woman” series, died March 17. He was 84.

MSTies will recall that he played Angelo in the movie “Never Steal Anything Wet” which was seen in episode 204- CATALINA CAPER.

The AP has the story.

Thanks to Paul for the heads up.

He really was such a handsome man, especially as Wonder Woman’s Colonel Steve in that snappy uniform. He made a decent kinda menacing yet still quite handsome guy, too, in Catalina Caper. Tommy Kirk was lucky not to get his arse kicked by Angelo.

One of his best Carol Burnett appearances. Tim Conway makes him crack up.

Hilarious sketch. One can only imagine how much Harvey Korman was laughing off-camera.

Also a bit of a businessman – started a trailer rental business for movie/TV sets, and you have to love the STAR WAGGONS name: https://www.filmla.com/star-waggons-star-for-the-local-economy/

Great all-around guy. Wonder Woman doesn’t work as well without Lyle Waggoner.

I don’t know how he keeps his composure in the Tim Conway sketch.
