Vol. XIX Update

Our pals at TVShowsonDVD.com have more info on the next set.

As you know, The episodes that will be included will be:
episode 107- ROBOT MONSTER (with shorts: COMMANDO CODY Parts 4 and 5)
episode 423- BRIDE OF THE MONSTER (with short: HIRED!, Part 1)
episode 818- DEVIL DOLL, and
episode 911- DEVIL FISH

The planned street date for the special edition is Nov. 9.

And check out this awesomeness:

That’s the Gypsy figurine that will be included in the special edition version, along side the Servo and Crow figurines, so you can see that they are proportional “as mandated by Jim and Joel,” according to our pal Brian Ward, the set’s producer (whose desktop that apparently is). The suggested retail price of the special edition is $69.97 but Amazon is currently pricing it at $48.99.

Finally, Amazon has put up a preorder page. If you would like to preorder, we would appreciate it if you would use THIS LINK.

  7. ck says:

Now if they had Hamlet like talking action figures:
Tom and Crow: “Mike broke the Hubble! Mike broke the Hubble!” Gypsy: “Boys!”

Also, how about extras in this set?

  8. Dr. Batch says:

Nov. 9th! That seems like such a long time. But the Gypsy figure looks like the best one yet.

  9. Oh, that is SO worth it (right now Crow and Servo are sitting underneath my computer just waiting for her).

I’m off to click that link to preorder.

Saw the Gypsy figure at this years San Diego Comic-con. It looks great. Solid and well put together.
Also thanked Shout! for all the extras they have added to their box sets.

I will put my order in as soon as I can.

AND they are not dolls! They are Action Figures!!!

#6: Technically, “Hired!” (part one) already appeared on Rhino’s Vol. 6 collection (one of “Mr. B’s Lost Shorts??!!”). But it will be nice to have it in its natural environment (and accompanied by the hilarious musical host segment that follows).

#17–i was thinking that too when they announced Gypsy would be proportional. aren’t Crow and Servo already a little out of proportion? from that shot it looks like Gypsy is closer to Crow’s scale. eh, it’s all good to me either way.

  22. H says:

I’m glad to hear all this. Gypsy looks awesome but I have to agree that the proportions are wrong- she been able to cough up and swallow a complete Servo on the show. Eh, not a big deal. It looks awesome anyway. The episodes do too.

  23. Cronkite Moonshot says:

It’s not that Crow is too small, it’s that Servo is much too big. Gypsy and Crow look correct together, but Servo is way out of scale. The Gypsy figure looks great. I especially like the coiled “tail” base. I can’t wait to get this. I really wasn’t expecting to see any more figurines after Servo, so it will be awesome to have Gypsy. Now we just need Cambot, a limited edition black “Timmy” Crow, and the alternate universe robot version of Mike.

November rules! First this comes out and then I go to Japan on the 13th.
Just hope I don’t run into Space Chief. Gamera would be fine, though.

  25. Laura says:

Still can’t afford it at that price. I really don’t care if Amazon is offering the set for $48.99. They’ll have to lower it WAY down before I will consider preordering. Stupid unemployment.

Brilliant! Shout outdoes themselves by getting ‘Devil Fish’! Been waiting forever for the DVD version of it . . . “Gahhh, you bastard Lou Reed!”

If they make a nanite that’s proportional to the other three, would it be microscopic?

#2: is it the thing that wouldn’t die? It’s the first episode with the observers… Not sure

    Anyway… I’m all over this!

  30. ck says:

Now there’s a thought for an action figure.
How about Shelley the Hairdresser Nanite?
    She can see you…now.

Any word yet on what the extras will be?

  32. Alex says:

I might wait till it’s officially released, just to be aware if there are any possible glitches (not that I really care about them, though).

And I ceartainly can’t wait for the extras to be announced, too. Can’t wait to see what the mini posters will look like. Would Bride of the Monster have the rubber octopus attacking Crow and Servo? XD

How about a TV’s Frank with Action Torso?

  36. Alex says:

If the pilot episode gets released (which of course is impossible), could we get a Beeper action figure?

I know Beeper was just Servo wth a fishbowl head and egg-eye, but it’d be neat.

    @37 ;-)

Not to make light of these tough economic times or anyone’s circumstance; but, I would have a friend get a PO Box at a post office in another town to pick up vol XIX from a fellow MSTie who offered such a gesture.

Just trying to help….less painful than selling plasma [the blood stuff, not your TV].

Laura is so proud of being out of work! She even knows she will not have any money for three and a half months. For $.50 a day she could save up enough to actually support MST3K instead of just downloading it and bragging about it on the internet.

*Ka-Ching!* As always, thanks for the Pre-Order Link, guys.

Though Shout! has been really good so far, I learned long ago to NEVER hold off and wait a bit when it comes to buying MST3K DVDs.

Gypsy looks great. I already pre-ordered it
Id like to see a set where the 4 discs are placed in a large scale Planet Logo as well as models of the SOL ship and Planet Logo :)
And a Manos mini bust from Randy Bowen :D

Great, now re-do that horribly inaccurate and undersized Crow T. Robot, and we’ll have a complete set!

  46. MitchellRowsdowerBeardsley says:

Well, I was complaining about the selection, but who am I kidding – I’m definitely gonna get it just for the Gypsy. She looks great, and yeah Tom is a little big, but so what. Bride of the Monster and Hired! Sweet.

and November get here soon, I just finished watching Vol XVIII, although I still can’t remember a thing about Beast of Yucca Flats…

  47. ck says:

Another thought for an action figure. How about a
recumbent Mitchell with a six-pack attached to a big toe?
And the matching action figure could be…..no wait,
unless John Saxon chipped in who could afford it?

Or how about a bobble-head Mitchell.

What a great idea. Love it.

  50. My only issue is that we now have two fully realized figurines and one bust. It would have been better if Tom had been made a little smaller and had come with legs that could be attached to Crow.

Still, Gypsy looks great. I’d be buying this right away because of the inclusion of “Bride of the Monster” (even though I think it’s a weak episode – I’ve got to have that Ed Wood material), but Gypsy guarantees a quick purchase.
