Updated: Episode Screening Coming Up in S.F.

Update: RiffTrax has given them permission to show the “Grasses” short, which they’ll run between the two features.

Headed to San Francisco for S.F. Sketchfest or perhaps you live in the bay area?

Then you’re going to want to know about “MST3K by the Bay,” Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. the Michaan’s Theater, 2700 Saratoga St. in Alameda (where all the nuclear wessels are). For $10 plus fees you will get a screening of episode 413- MANHUNT IN SPACE followed by the movie “Attack from Space.”

Find out more here.

I hope to see as many of my fellow Bay Area misties as possible on the 21st!

If this is a success, I plan on showing an episode (plus a second feature bad movie)each month. It’s a great theater and the food and drink people are top-notch!

I am currently talking to some Local Horror Personalities as to the possibility of celebrity guest riffers…

So if you can get a showing into a theater why has there no showing on tv since the last show run years ago. We just pasted the 20th anniversity, at what point can we get one day rebroadcast of the show? 25th? 40th? I know there is an ownership issue but come on. Zero production cost [it’s already in the can] why the hold up?.

    Big61al –

I’m with you on this one – MST3K should never have gone off the air (there’s just too much crappy entertainment out there to ever run out!)

But if you haven’t been to a live showing like CT or Rifftrax, GO – sharing the experience with hundreds of fellow Misties at the same time is a fantastic thing. Even a semi-live experience like showing an episode in a movie theater like my event’s first feature is great – It’s really something to see Joel and the Bots 40 feet tall! And sharing it with hundreds of people is a great feeling of community.

Perhaps if we have enough of these events people will take notice? Or a write in campaign like when they saved Star Trek the first time?

you would think that some digital channel would replay the public domain episodes at least. But I guess in 2012, streaming on Netflix is about as close as we’re gonna get.

San Francisco area folks, please support shows such as this one so people like Cherokee Jack can put on more!

Tickets are advance sale only so please get them right away.

I wish I could go but, well, 3000 miles is really far (My transporter pad is on the fritz- Andorian nanites).

    Thank You, Cyanide Rush!

We need advance sales so the beer and food people can prepare correctly. If you aren’t from the East Bay, the providers (Lucky 13 and Scolari’s) are really the best in town. So PLEASE (please) don’t delay in ordering those tickets. It will also help me keep what’s left of my hair.

Cyanide – I will lend you 1500 quatloos to fix your transporter to get here! (I did say “provider” in my post…)

I wish I could be there for this but my wife and I are moving that day so I’ll probably be wiped out at that point of the evening.

I am surprised Mallon hasn’t put together a package of the public domain movie episodes and gotten some channel to air them…
