An etiquette question: Is it okay to bring my copy of The Amazing Colossal Episode Guide to be signed? I’ve never been to a Cinematic Titanic live show before, and I’m going to try to go to one of the Milwaukee shows. I understand they sometimes have a little meet and greet afterwards, and I’d love to have them sign it, but I don’t want to show up with it and have them go “Oh, jeez, not this crap again.”

I brought my copy of that book to there show last year and they didn’t have a problem signing it then.

@6 Sani..Yes,it is because I brought mine when they performed in Dallas of 09 and all them signed it,except Mary Jo because she signed it when it was first published..Even Gruber signed it and drew a little cartoon of himself..

They are intriguing (sp?) me with the first Newark show. I had forgotten they even did Blood of the Vampires until I saw the trailer for it on one of the other CT DVDs. I have never seen that movie.

@6: I’m pretty sure they have signed a lot of ACEG books. I went with a friend to their show in Seattle 3 years ago and we both got our ACEGs signed and we saw several other people with them too.

Just found out my time off was rejected! I asked for my time off work in retail hell months ago but now I’m told that since that time, March 16, is blacked out. No one can ask for time off due to the fact that its inventory time. I did not know this. And it took them 4 months to let me know! In a year at this job I’ve never asked for anything, never even took a sick day.

So now I’m fighting with management. One of my bosses is a MSTie and I think he understands. I mean, this may be the only opportunity I get to see these guys. It pisses me off so much, and I’m getting the runaround. I think that they think if they put it off long enough I’ll let it go. Normally I’m the type of person who would give in. But not this time. I’ll fight this till the end.

I mean, not everyone works that day, there is a chance I may not even be scheduled to work that day (our schedules are supposed to be put together 4-5 weeks in advance). But can’t you at least promise not schedule me that day? There’s two other people they can schedule in my place.

    MSTies UNITE !!!

    “Mrs. Dick”,

If you care to share the retail establishment/corporation/conglomerate that you work for, those of us who can, will promise NEVER to give them our business (well, uh, we can give them THE business, if you like, but not OUR business……..if you follow my drift!) EVER AGAIN……..or at least until they agree to back off from their (obviously) unfair handling of your request for time off!

Side Note: I too worked retail (Gimbel’s…….Remember them?) back in high school (which, sadly, was WAY back in the dark ages of the late 70’s!!!), and remember all too well the “All Hands On-Deck” requirement for working during inventory.

Seems to me you went through the proper channels, well in advance, and should be allowed ONE night off, given the fact that they CLEARLY have alternatives here, and seem to have COMPLETELY dropped the ball on this one.

We are with you in spirit, and I, for one, would like to know how this little ‘drama’ plays out for you!

UP WITH PEOPLE !!! DOWN WITH “THE MAN” !!! ……. as we (well, not me actually…….but a lot of other hep-cats, anyway) used to say, back in the day !!! :-D

Ferris, no, I don’t mind saying that the company is…Walmart. Big surprise huh?

I understand policy, heck, at my last job I was one of the policy makers. I know what its like to tell someone no, its against policy. It’s tough. I am an unemployed librarian stuck in retail hell, hopefully for not much much longer. But I know they can just not schedule me that day, and I need that promise.

Thanks for the support and I’ll keep everyone updated. I’m going to try to talk to the top manager tomorrow. I’ll go all the way to the chairman in Arkansas if I have to for this.

Please note the Hartford shows were moved to Thursday, February 2. The shows were moved from Feb. 3 to Feb. 2. This is noted both on the CT site and the site for the theater in Hartford. Don’t mean to keep posting this but it hasn’t changed here despite the shows being moved a few weeks ago. Wouldn’t want fans to miss out.

Hopefully CT will try to come to upstate NY via a college show. Proctors in Schenectady is a place where Robert Goulet and the roadshows of defunct Broadway shows come to die. I was surprised to see they were signed for Proctors. Colleges ripe for the taking: RPI, Union, St. Rose, Skidmore, SUNY at Albany (plan to wear battle gear) or Maria College.

    Good Luck !!!

On your behalf, I have rounded up everything in our house purchased from Walmart, and am poised, waiting to throw it all out, if they don’t see the light regarding this unfortunate situation you find yourself in………wait a minute…….uh……..I guess that wouldn’t really do ANYBODY any good, would it now ??? :-?

Oh well, the thought was there.

    Keep fightin’, babe!!!

As a native Schenectadian who now lives over 100 miles away (and was planning on attending the Proctors show), I’m with you in hoping CT eventually come to the area … but I suspect they might have been booked at Proctors with the idea of attracting audiences from RPI, Union (especially), SUNY Albany, etc, etc.

Well, one manager rejected the time again. So I went back to my Mstie manager and he approved it! He promised that he would schedule somebody else that day. I could have kissed him. But I think they would probably fire me.

I’ll have to bring him back something nice.

    Can’t wair!
