I’m afraid my luck has run out this time. That night, I’ll be in another part of PA visiting my Mom. Oh, well. That’s the way it goes.

Actually, if they’re taping the event, maybe Shout Factory can use it when they do “Life After MST3K” for Joel. Or, even release it as a double feature with “Chaos at the Colonial”, which was being taped, so far as I could tell.

I already got my friends who live near there to get me a ticket, so in theory I will be there. The last live Colonial show with him and his students was really fun, and it featured “I Accuse My Parents” which I had never seen and instantly loved. I am really pumped for a mystery MST3K show…of course with my luck it will be Hamlet.

I can’t go to the Minneapolis show either. Crud!

By the way, with Joel doing his one-man show and Frank writing for a show in New York, is CT going on hiatus for a while?

    @#6

I was thinking the same thing. It really looks like Cinematic Titanic has broken up.

If CT’s gone, what show did I buy tickets to see on Nov 17?

And beyond that? Any DVD news, more tour dates? No.

Perhaps not broken up, but their momentum has slowed considerably. Suspiciously.

Cinematic Titanic is NOT broken up. Exciting, fun stuff is coming.

    Studio DVDs?

    Please?

A visit to Boise perhaps? There is no more exciting or fun place to visit.

It always puzzles me that Mike and Kevin never seem to do anything in Minnesota. I’m always quick to pick up tickets to anything that Bill or the various Cinematic Titanic members do.

    Re: #10

Thanks for the reassurance! I was a little worried, there.

Looking forward to CT returning to the McCarter (even if it does tick off Rutgers) and NJPAC (though driving to Newark scares me).

@11 Philip Frey..If only the studio dvd’s are funnier than the lives ones…..CT is on hiatus. Each member have their own gig, their own thing going on,but they’ll perform again soon. It’s not like they’re kind of joined at the hip like Rifftrax.CT use their own money to make the dvd’s and to tour.Rifftrax doesn’t.I doubt Rifftrax would be putting out as much product like they do if they used their own money…What really needs to happen is for MST3K to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and get everyone together or have a street named after MST3K in Hopkins and have one last convention where Rifftrax would do a movie and CT would do a movie.Maybe have special guest stars and so on.Sorry for rambling.Just thinking out loud… :-)) :-)) :-))

@GB: “If only the studio dvd’s are funnier than the lives ones…..”

Which, by my reckoning, they generally are…hence my desire for more…

    Funnier…and more substantial…

Boy, once again you guys prove just how child like and quick to jump the gun you all are. Cinematic Titanic breaking up! HA!

I could’ve sworn MST3K was a “smart” show for “smart” people! Hey, it’s a hella funny show and plenty witty, don’t get me wrong, but I never understood how making frequent and obscure pop culture references was a sign of high intelligence.

Ok, I went back and read that twice to make sure before I came back here to snicker and complain, but seriously, Patrick Hickey Jr., you need to stop composing your questions and deigning to plug your subject’s projects AFTER your interviews….I’ve wished in the past that Joel could guest on Rifftrax, but it’s never happened, nor is Rifftrax one of his projects. It’s called Cinematic Titanic. Retraction time!!

Great, informative stuff from Joel otherwise. I wonder if 40-year-old me can take his class?
