Yeah, I also ordered yesterday (waited a long time and even asked for a site link in that first announcement thread, but… oh well).
Wow…quite the price difference there? While the bonus disk of compiled shorts might be nice, I don’t see the value in spending the extra $20 for the set, I’ll stick with Amazon.
I learned from the Commander Cody disc that these serial installments can be pretty hard to sit through one after another, even riffed. I can only imagine multiple doses of General Hospital. Certainly not worth the 20 bucks. Preordered with the Amazon link.
I bought the Shout! link. Mostly because when it comes to MST3K DVDs, I’m pretty much a completionist.
I wonder if Shout could get Cinematic Titanic to finish up one of the sets of serials? Well, not General Hospital, but the others may have been close enough to the end that if they could force themselves to riff one or two additional episodes… wouldn’t that be something they could sell separately? I think I’d rather pay for a complete Phantom Creeps or Commando Cody than have a compilation freebee.

Did anyone else notice SHOUT has single DVDS from past sets? A long time ago I said I wondered if they’d ever sell as singles and people said they didn’t think SHOUT would do that…..

That is interesting. Especially since I was sure I found a pattern in the colors of each set. 14 and 24 were green. 15 and 25 were blue. 16 and 26 were pinkish. I was POSITIVE 27 would be orange, like 17. Oh well. They are still getting my money. :)
This question has probably been asked before this, but if I wish list through the link do you guys get some of the greens once I finally jump on it? I always wait for sales unless I”m worried about oop.

$60? Ouch! I know that Shout! is putting out a fantastic product, but that’s a pretty hefty price. I’m guessing the bonus disc is the reason, however I personally don’t like the serials enough to warrant and extra $20. Hafta stick with Amazon on this one.
