RIP Charles T. Knight

NORTH DAKOTA — Charles T. Knight, a veteran sound technician in Hollywood from the 1960s to the 1990s, died here June 29. He was 91.

He was nominated for an Oscar in 1973 for “Butterflies Are Free.” His very first movie credit was for the movie “Monstrosity,” seen in episode 518- THE ATOMIC BRAIN. After he left show biz, he spent his remaining days as an auto mechanic.

Thanks to Gordon for the heads up.

I just got back from North Dakota. The folks there are mostly good people. One year I was snowed in at a McDonalds on a Christmas visit when they closed the interstate during a whiteout. I had a pleasant conversation with the older couple at the next table until the snow plows cleared the road and we said goodbye. They sent me a Christmas card every year after that for over ten years. RIP Mr. Knight
