RIP George Wendt

LOS ANGELES — Actor George Wendt, who bellied up to the bar to portray the beer-quaffing everyman Norm Peterson for all 11 seasons of the fabled NBC sitcom Cheers, died May 20 in his sleep at his home here. He was 76.

The MST3K cast put on a parody of the series, with Tom Servo as Norm, in episode 1306- DEMON SQUAD.

CNN has the story.

  1. “Norm!” was used as a riff on several episodes. I’ve even used it on an occasion or two in real life. He was a great character, and George Wendt did a great job portraying him. RIP
