Weekend Discussion Thread: MST3K/RiffTrax/CT-related Things You’ve Made/Discovered

We’re gonna do another combination topic today. Alert reader Dan writes:

Has anyone created anything MST related that they would like to share with everyone?  Perhaps some custom Servo knitted pot holders, an .mp3 song about Space Mutiny, a youtube video of you in a Torgo costume or an etch-a-sketch masterpiece of T.V.’s Frank?
I’d like to see what we’ve created.  I know we’ll mostly get links to photos of bots (I built a Servo years ago, myself) but I’m sure there’s some unique stuff too.

Haven’t done anything yourself? Let me expand the topic with this suggestion, from alert reader Steven:

Last week, I was working on a project involving regular expressions in the Python programming language. The documentation included this gem:
“Crow|Servo will match either Crow or Servo, not Cro, a ‘w’ or an ‘S’, and ervo.”
After the obligatory double-take, I wondered if this might be a good weekend discussion topic — what references to MST3k have you come across when you least expected them?

And let me expand the topic further to include RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic, things you’ve either made yourself or encountered, which brings me to this coolness, which I encountered the other day. Neat, huh?

So what have you made or found?

Note: This will probably be a link-heavy thread again, so please be patient if your post doesn’t appear right away.

  1. I wrote the text commentary track that appears on the commercial version of Mike’s “solo” ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’ DVD.

  2. Behold! The MST3K One-Act Play Project!

It was started by Joe Blevins on the Usenet group rec.arts.tv.mst3k.misc and later on I picked up the ball and ran with it. Between us we wrote plays for all the movies from the Sci Fi era as well as every movie that was released by Rhino — up to a point. The project petered out after a while, but I’m still proud of what Joe and I accomplished during the five years or so it was active.
