14 years ago, I probably would have agreed, but he’s shown real talent these past few years. Inception is a great watch. Dunno if I’m in the mood for a riff, but diversification is RiffTrax’s watchword (possibly.)

As much as I love this movie, I can’t wait to hear it skewered by the Rifftrax crew. :D

Agreed with #2, Leo is no longer the infant/baby man boy from Titanic days of yore. Watch the Aviator or his performance in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, regardless of the quality of his movies at any given times he’s always been a good actor IMHO.

Anyways, I loved Inception, it was what the Matrix should have been: an excellent, artistic sci fi concept movie done right but with none of the pretentiousness. I have no problems watching the rifftrax for it, as long as they lay off the whole “This movie sucks/is pathetic/worthless” type airs they seem to put on for almost every flick they watch. That may fly for insultingly bad garbage like Transformers but it gets on my nerves for other movies.

I think all of Nolan’s work takes itself too seriously and that always makes the best fodder for RiffTrax’s particular style of riffing.

I know the world disagrees with me, but I think Nolan has gotten worse as he has gone along. I really like Following and The Dark Knight was pretty good but Inception just didn’t do it for me.

Well done movie. It’s pretty entertaining. At least it’s an original screenplay and not some remake.

#6 – I agree with you…but then again, when your first major release is “Memento”, it’s hard to go anywhere but down.

  10. Just watched it. Good job.

They kept a nice balance of pointing out flaws and plot-holes without ever resorting to calling the movie total crap. What a loud, overly-serious movie this is. You may need to adjust volume levels a few times to catch all the riffs and relevant dialogue. While all the gunplay leaves me cold, it’s still very moving in parts: the Marion/Leo stuff breaks me up (Hans Zimmer’s score plays a large part in this). Weird sensation to be getting misty-eyed while laughing at riffs simultaneously. More like this please…

Inception is one of the worst movies ever made, I hope they tear it a new asshole just like they did for The Dark Knight. I am sick of these Nolan Fanboys blowing smoke up the worlds ass about these horrible films he makes. For the record, The Prestige is the best movie he has made to date (except for the last 30 minutes) and that is because it’s the only plot the Nolan Bros. didn’t come up with themselves.

    Hooray for Rifftrax!

All other Christopher Nolan fans be warned- you are not as smart as you think you are, especially for understanding some idiotic clusterfrak that is INCEPTION.

Did Christopher Nolan direct ‘Memento’ as well?

Yeah, just from watching previews this film looks like total crap. It’s on my list of rifftraxers to watch now that I’m finally getting into it. Gotta watch Twilight series first though. The best of clips on youtube are hilarious.

I’ve seen about a hundred Rifftrax now, and almost every MST. But I have to say the only time I was ever engrossed in a movie to the point I stopped paying attention to the riffers was in Memento.

It’s amazing how quickly most of these RT release threads turn into total troll-fests, huh?

I consider myself a Nolan fan, but not a fanboy. I loved Memento and the Prestige in particular, but as his movies have gotten louder and more action-oriented, they’ve enthralled me to a much lesser degree.

Still, since I do like *some* of his work a great deal, I’ll be sure to subtract at least 50 points from my IQ score – thanks for pointing out that I’m actually an idiot, Frentz!

Not a Nolan fan boy at all. I kind of liked the Dark Knight, dug Memento and otherwise I could take him or leave him. That said, Inception was easily one of the most exciting film experiences of the year. It wasn’t the mindblower many would have us think, and it did have a plot hole or two, but it was beautifully directed, had a solid, almost poetic emotional core, and played with some cool ideas. Regardless, I’m sure the RT crew do a bang-up job with it and I look forward to checking it out.

I know many will disagree, but I’d take this over most of the other best pic. nominees, and I’m usually a foreign film/art house kind of guy. The Social Network, Black Swan, The King’s Speech, Toy Story 3, True Grit (I haven’t seen the others)–they were all good enough, but Inception was the most engaging and entertaining.

I LIKE Christopher Nolan’s movies, The Prestige in particular, but Leonardo DiCaprio just sat on my head and killed the movie, for me. Most useless, easily-replacible-actor-since-Tom-Cruise ever. That, and the endless swimming in slow motion that the kid from 3rd Rock From The Sun had to do……TEDIOUS! At one point, people were shooting at each other in the snow, and I honestly didn’t care why. Also, I guessed the ending when I saw the preview, because I’VE ACTUALLY SEEN A MOVIE BEFORE AND I PAID ATTENTION. I hate Hollywood. I thought of Rifftrax IMMEDILATELY while I was watching this. Good FX, GREAT supporting cast, but GAH!!!!!! Can’t wait to enjoy this. Go Speedracer, GO!!!!
